UK-China low carbon manufacturing workshop
The RCUK Energy Programme is holding a two-day UK-China workshop in March 2018 to look a potential collaborations with Chinese participants in low-carbon manufacturing.
The workshop will take place in Wuhan, China. A call for research proposals funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Programme (EPSRC) in partnership with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) will follow on from the workshop.
The discussions will look to identify the research needed to reduce energy demand in energy intensive industries. Likely areas include:
- Novel low-energy manufacturing processes
- Refinement of manufacturing process technologies to reduce energy demand, including system design, control, enhanced sensing, data capture and utilisation
- Improved on-site energy management, including energy harvesting, recovery and storage.
The workshop will be held on 14th and 15th March 2018 and the deadline for expressions of interest to take part is 16:00 on 30th November 2017.
