Report: CSEF Energy Recovery and Power Generation from Waste Heat
25th February saw members of the CSEF Centre host an international industry conference at Brunel University’s Institute of Energy Futures entitled ‘Energy Recovery and Power Generation from Waste Heat’.
The event opened with an introduction from Geoff Rodgers, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Brunel University, followed by a keynote from Nick Winser, Chairman of the Energy Systems Catapult. CSEF Director Savvas Tassou then presented on the work of the Institute of Energy Futures and its four themes.
The event’s c200 attendees then split into four different strands for the remainder of the day based on these themes:
- Advanced Powertrain and Fuels
- Energy Efficient and Sustainable Techologies
- Resource Efficient Future Cities
- Smart Power Networks
The day offered a mix of presentations from academics, industry colleagues and public sector delegates and a chance for networking between these groups, highlighting the importance of working with industry to achieve impact.
The event segued into a Vision 2020 Horizon Network workshop which allowed an international group to look at the planned Energy Efficiency calls for 2017 and the 2018-19 Energy Work Programme.
