Cooking with (hydrogen) gas
A new CSEF blog reports on a project using solar power to create hydrogen as a cleaner, safer cooking fuel in developing countries.
Researchers from the Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains (CSEF)’s Manchester University team report that in some countries using fossil fuels and biomass for preparing food not only damages the environment but is also a major health problem due to poor ventilation and air quality.
The innovative research looked at small solar hydrogen plants that could be used for alternative cooking fuel with an abundant and renewable energy source, namely the sun.
