CIED’s Geels joins EEA Scientific Committee

Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand (CIED) Co-Director Professor Frank Geels has joined the European Environment Agency’s (EEA) Scientific Committee.

Professor Geels, of the University of Manchester Sustainable Consumption Institute was invited to join the panel of one of five new members selected from 190 applicants.

The EEA advises European countries on ‘developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating’ environmental policy. The 18 member Scientific Committee meets two or three times a year and assist the EEA management and Executive Director to deliver scientific advice and opinions on the work of the agency.
